Befriending Difficult Emotions, A Day Retreat with Bodhipaksa
December 6, 10-4
The world is a difficult place at the best of times, but right now the emotions it’s stirring up are even more difficult than usual. Often we find that the spiritual tools we have aren’t up to the task.
On this day retreat, Bodhipaksa will introduce gentle but powerful approaches that can help us be more at peace. We’ll learn to see our difficult emotions not as a threatening enemy, but as a struggling part of us that needs our support. And we’ll learn how to tap into deeper resources that can provide that support.
We’ll learn:
- Simple and gentle ways to be more accepting of difficult emotions
- How we can find strength when we feel overwhelmed
- Tools for tapping into our hidden reserves of kindness and compassion
- How supporting ourselves makes it possible for us to support others
- How supporting others compassionately helps us to feel more courageous
Through guided meditations and reflection we’ll work at becoming kind and fearless in the face of difficult emotional states.
