Anapanasati - A Complete Practice that can Inform Every Aspect of Life, May 3, 10-4
This workshop is for meditators with some experience of meditation and a regular practice.
One commentator observed that the term Anapanasati (mindfulness of breathing) does not just mean mindfulness established on in and out breathing, it means that mindfulness is established on an object with each breath in and out. Initially one establishes mindfulness on the breathing itself, then on different kinds of feeling, then on different states of mind, then the characteristic of impermanence, and finally on relinquishment itself which is the ultimate objective of the practice. This same mindfulness can be more than a meditation technique, it can be an approach to the whole of life. This workshop will explore how we might use the technique developed in meditation, to inform everything we do throughout the day.
This workshop will be held in the Akashaloka annex on the Aryaloka property. Please bring your own vegetarian bag lunch.
Come to both or either of these day long workshops exploring anapanasati.
