Holding to Nothing Whatever — A Day to Explore the Heart Sutra as Practice, August 2, 10-4
We recite it, we memorize it, the rhythm of the words becomes part of us, but what is the Heart Sutra really getting at? Students and scholars of the Sutra engage with it as a guide to practice, not as an analysis of the metaphysics of phenomena. Let's look at the sutra section by section and discover the open dimension and freedom that it points to. There will be a talk, some discussion, some contemplation, recitation, and a few cognitive and imaginative leaps taken during the day.
Led by Amala, whose original 'conversion' to Buddhism was through this Sutra many years ago.
