When Love Stumbles — A Day Retreat with Bodhipaksa, Dec 7, 10-4

As we know all too well, even after years of practice it's not easy to remain kind and compassionate. We often lose our footing, slipping into judgements and criticisms, getting frustrated with ourselves and others, and harboring resentments and even contempt. This isn’t a sign that we’re bad practitioners. It’s just that it truly is a difficult thing we’ve taken on.

Fortunately, the Buddhist tradition offers us numerous tools to help us return to being kind and compassionate after we’ve stumbled. Often these tools encourage us to look at the deeper roots that sustain the various forms of aversion and hostility to which we’re prone.

On this workshop, we’ll explore and practice some of these tools, learning not just how to pick ourselves up when we stumble, but also how to be more sure-footed on the path, so that we can stay more grounded in states of love.

The Mid-Level Reduced Rate is for those who are paying their mortgage or rent, though experience a consistent tightness in budget that makes extras like leisure activities or unexpected expenses difficult or impossible. 

The Base-Level Reduced Rate is for those without an income or with an income low enough that making ends meet is a challenge.
